Building Impact Through Communications

Cachet’s work has connected our agency with a network of people and organizations dedicated to creating meaningful community impact. Through our clients, our founders’ roles as board members of the Mathurin Family Foundation, and our co-founder Jessica’s involvement as a board member of the Association Chelaine du Millénaire and a committee member of the Angel Circle of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, our team has seen firsthand how strategic communications, strong relationships, and professional expertise can help strengthen a cause and create lasting impact.

Philanthropy is often associated primarily with financial donations, yet its impact extends far beyond giving money. It is also about knowing when to bring together the right expertise, build relationships that can move a mission forward, contribute through thoughtful governance and, most importantly, tell stories that help others understand why the work matters.

Quebec’s philanthropic ecosystem is built through this kind of collaboration. According to a 2025 survey conducted by Léger for the Institut Mallet, 32% of Quebecers between the ages of 18 and 40 had volunteered or offered their professional expertise to a cause during the previous year. This finding reflects a broader understanding of philanthropy that is sometimes overlooked, one that includes not only financial support, but also time, knowledge, leadership and access to networks.

This is where what we do plays an important role. Organizations can be doing essential work, but without the right visibility, their mission may never reach the people who are ready to support it. Clear messaging helps a cause communicate its purpose. Thoughtful storytelling makes its impact feel more tangible. Events create spaces where organizations, supporters and potential partners can connect in a meaningful way.

Our role as communicators is to help create those connections. By clarifying a mission, sharing the impact behind the work and creating opportunities for people to gather around a common purpose, communications can help organizations reach new supporters and build relationships that continue beyond a single donation, campaign or event.

At Cachet, we have had an inside view of this dynamic. We have seen how visibility can introduce a cause to a new audience, how the right partnership can open an unexpected door and how a well-told story can give someone a reason to become involved. Communications alone cannot create impact, but it can help meaningful work become better understood, supported and sustained.

Association Chelaine du Millénaire is one example of this ecosystem in action. The organization supports the social and educational development of children and families in Leroux-Cachiman through initiatives connected to the community school in Trou-du-Nord, Haiti.

On August 7, Association Chelaine du Millénaire will bring together longtime supporters and those discovering its work for the first time at its annual All White Party. The evening will offer guests an opportunity to learn more about ACM’s mission, connect with the community behind it and contribute directly to the future of children and families in Leroux-Cachiman.

We invite you to join us in supporting the Leroux-Cachiman community school and ACM’s continued efforts to provide children and their families with access to education and training. Together, we can help equip them with the knowledge, skills and tools they need to build their own future and create their place in society.
